News: Recurring Role on How I Met Your Mother
According to CinemaBlend Kal’s been cast in a recurring role (possibly as a love interest for Robin) on the hit series How I Met Your Mother – will be great to see Kal on TV again!
But back to the news at hand. TVLine’s “Mother source says Penn will play a possible love interest for Cobie Smulders’ lovelorn Robin named Kevin.” After Robin and Barney’s split, the former Canadian pop star remained single throughout most of last season watching NPH’s Barney mature and develop a new relationship (with Nora played by Nazanin Boniadi).

News: A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas Gets Release Date
Like me, I’m sure all of you are eagarly awaiting the third film in the Harold and Kumar franchise, A Very Harold and Kumar 3D Christmas. Well now it looks like it’s got it’s release date, according to AndPop.com we’re looking at a November 4th theatrical release, just in time for the Christmas season:
Christmas has come early and it looks to be a very green Christmas this year. Warner Bros. has confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that “A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas” will be released November 4th, 2011.

News: Kal Back in the White House
Just a bit late with this (sorry guys, been busy!) but as you may have heard Kal’s headed back to work for President Obama and the American People, here’s what Politico had to say:
When Kalpen Modi (aka Kal Penn) left 1600 Penn. for the big screen back in June, senior White House aides said they would always welcome him back if he chose to return.
And the actor did just that on Monday—he resumed work in the White House Office of Public Engagement.
Penn—who left the White House to film the third installment of “Harold & Kumar” —will now be an associate director, White House Spokesman Shin Inouye said in a statement on Monday.
“While OPE works collectively on conducting outreach to the American public and various organizations, he will be the point person for those in the Arts, Youth, and Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) communities,” Inouye said.
In recent weeks, Modi—who campaigned for Obama in 2008—hinted at a possible return to politics when he appeared on the campaign trail with Democratic candidates.
By the way, Kal Penn fans, his movie entitled “A Very Harold & Kumar Christmas” is scheduled for release in 2011.
